[04.02.2024] Wojny Napoleońskie 28mm - Bitwa 1813 [19.01.2024 - Fort 52a Jugowice]

Wrzesień roku 1813 Dolny Śląsk. Kończy się okres zawieszenia broni. Odwołany z Hiszpanii Marszałek Suchet staje na czele sformowanego na prędce Korpusu obserwacyjnego. Do jego dyspozycji postawiono dwie dywizje piechoty i jedną dywizję kawalerii. Za zadanie ma śledzić ruchy wykrytego nowego zgrupowania wojsk Rosyjskich i powstrzymywać wypady kozackie.

September 1813 Lower Silesia. The ceasefire period is ending. Marshal Suchet, recalled from Spain, becomes the head of the hastily formed Observation Corps. Two infantry divisions and one cavalry division were placed at his disposal. Its task is to monitor the movements of the detected new group of Russian troops and stop Cossack raids.

Highslide JS Bitwę stoczyliśmy w Muzeum i Centrum Ruchu Harcerskiego / Muzeum Krakowa, a dokładniej w fort 52a Jugowice części Twierdzy Kraków.
Pole bitwy miało wymiary 2,4x4m.
Graliśmy według zasad systemu "Black Powder".
Celem rozgrywki było kontrolowanie punktów zwycięstwa, czyli skrzyżowań i wzgórz w centrum bitwy.

We fought the battle in the Museum and Center of the Scouting Movement / Museum of Krakow, more precisely in fort 52a Jugowice, part of the Krakow Fortress.
The battlefield had dimensions of 2,4x4m.
We played according to the rules of the "Black Powder" system.
The aim of the game was to control victory points, i.e. the intersections and hills in the center of the battle.

Inicjatywę uzyskały wojska sprzymierzonych i to one pierwsze rozpoczęły manewry. Dowódca Rosyjski mocno pchnął swe brygady do przodu, dowódca austriacki był trochę bardziej zachowawczy.

W odpowiedzi Francuzi na prawym skrzydle ruszyli ostrożnie do przodu, jednak jedna z brygad nie wykonała rozkazów i pozostała na pozycjach wyjściowych.
Na lewym skrzydle przed wzgórzem brygada piechoty nie zdała rozkazów, wobec czego nie zajęła wzgórza, jej miejsce musiała zająć ciężka kawaleria. Kolejna brygada piechoty wraz z brygadą kawalerii doszła tylko do wąskiego przesmyku między lasami ustawiając swą artylerię (w tym jedną zaprzodkowaną) na przedzie, co będzie miała katastrofalne skutki w kolejnej turze. 		The allied troops gained the initiative and were the first to start the maneuvers. The Russian commander pushed his brigades strongly forward, the Austrian commander was a little more conservative.

In response, the French on the right wing moved cautiously forward, but one of the brigades did not follow the orders and remained in their starting positions.
On the left wing, in front of the hill, the infantry brigade did not follow orders, so it did not take the hill, its place had to be taken by heavy cavalry. The next infantry brigade together with the cavalry brigade only reached a narrow passage between the forests, placing its artillery (including one of its predecessors) at the front, which will have disastrous consequences in the next round.

Ponieważ graliśmy dwóch na dwóch to rozgrywka jakoś tak naturalnie przerodziła się w pojedynki jeden na jeden, przez co nie zwracałem szczególnej uwagi na to co dzieje się u kolegi obok.

Druga tura zaczęła się szarżami kawalerii z obu stron. Austriackie brygady kawalerii zmierzyły się z Ułanami Legii Nadwiślańskiej eliminując je z bitwy, Rosyjski Pułk Huzarów przejechał się artylerii Francuskiej z lewego skrzydła.
Las na swoim prawym skrzydle zajęli rosyjscy jegrzy, którzy celnym ostrzałem zdołali zdezorganizować francuskich strzelców konnych, którzy już gotowali się do szarży. Dzięki temu powstrzymana została cała lekka brygada kawalerii.

W odpowiedzi na wyeliminowanie przez Huzarów Sumskich artylerii Francuskiej, do podobnej szarży ruszył pułk Dragonów jednak w ogniu obronnym Rosyjska artyleria zdołała zdezorganizować pułk zadając mu dwie rany, a po teście na morale pułk zszedł z pola bitwy. Nie będzie to pierwszy i ostatni tak tragiczny test na morale z mojej strony. Przeciwnikowi szło tego dnia znacznie lepiej.
Huzarzy Sumscy znaleźli się w potrzasku i byli ostrzelani przez: czworobok piechoty, batalion Księstwa Warszawskiego i ciężką artylerię. Mimo czterech ran i dezorganizacj po teście na morale Pułk pozostał na swoich pozycjach.

W środku dalej stała prawie cała brygada francuskiej piechoty przez co początkowo z Austriakami walczyła praktycznie jedna brygada piechoty, gdyż Kirasjerzy rozbili dwie jednostki Ułanów Legii Nadwiślańskiej, a Strzelcy Konni wycofali się za swoją piechotę. 		Since we were playing two against two, the game naturally turned into one-on-one duels, which is why I didn't pay much attention to what was happening with my friend next to me.

The second round began with cavalry charges from both sides. Austrian cavalry brigades faced the Uhlans of the Vistula Legion, eliminating them from the battle, the Russian Hussar Regiment attacked the French artillery from the left wing.
The forest on their right wing was occupied by Russian Jergies who, with accurate fire, managed to disorganize the French mounted riflemen who were already preparing to charge. Thanks to this, the entire light cavalry brigade was stopped.

In response to the elimination of the French artillery by the Sumy Hussars, the Dragoon Regiment launched a similar charge, but under defensive fire, the Russian artillery managed to disorganize the regiment, inflicting two wounds on it, and after a morale test, the regiment left the battlefield. This will not be the first or last such a tragic test of morale on my part. The opponent was doing much better that day.
The Sumy hussars found themselves trapped and fired by: an infantry quadrangle, a battalion of the Duchy of Warsaw and heavy artillery. Despite four wounds and disorganization after the morale test, the Regiment remained in its positions.

Almost the entire French infantry brigade was still standing in the middle, so initially there was practically only one infantry brigade fighting against the Austrians, because the Cuirassiers defeated two Uhlan units of the Vistula Legion and the Mounted Riflemen withdrew behind their infantry.

W czwartej turze po kolejnych szarżach i kontrszarżach praktycznie przestała istnieć kawaleria Austriacka i Francuska na Lewym skrzydle. Jeden z batalionów Francuskich odparł nawet szarżę kirasjerów tak że Ci musieli opuścić pole bitwy!
W dalszych walkach to bataliony piechoty zaczęły wyniszczać się w atakach na bagnety.

W centrum doszło do szarży Rosyjskich Dragonów na Francuskich (chociaż właściwie to Polskich) Lansjerów. Kontrszarżujący Lansjerzy musieli wykonać ruch przez Rosyjskich Ułanów, wobec czego Ci dokonali kontrszarży i doszło do pojedynku dwóch na jednego. Oczywiście nie mogło skończyć się to dobrze. Lansjerzy zostali zmieceni, padła brygada kawalerii Francuskiej. Zwycięzcy Dragoni z rozpędu wpadli w bok Francuskiego batalionu i zniszczyli go.

Na lewym skrzydle Francuzi zwietrzyli szansę wyjścia z niekorzystnego położenia. Pułk strzelców konnych wpadł w bok Rosyjskiego batalionu, ale szczęście nie dopisywało dziś Francuzom. Rosjanie przegrali tylko minimalnie i utrzymali pozycje.
Kolejne salwy karabinowe spowodowały, że Pułk Huzarów musiał się wycofać.


W kierunku wzgórza nadciągały już Szwadrony Polskich ułanów i oddelegowana została ciężka kompania artylerii, ale niestety nie wykonała rozkazów i zdołała się tylko zaprzodkować. Kolejny ruch, który źle się skoczył.
Ze wzgórza na zaprzodkowaną artylerię spadł atak Ułanów Rosyjskich. Artyleria została zmieciona, a w dalszej kolejności batalion piechoty obok niej.
Do szarży na Rosyjskich Ułanów szykowali się już Polscy Ułani, ale skuteczny ogień batalionu Księstwa Warszawskiego zdołał zdezorganizować a w końcu złamać Pułk - jak się okazało były to jedyne straty Rosjan w tej bitwie.


W ostatniej turze którą udało nam się zagrać (chyba 6) Rosjanom udało się wejść na wzgórze, złamać kolejny Francuski batalion i całą brygadę, która broniła tego miejsca.
Austriacy byli już na granicy złamania. Francuzi walczyli twardo w tym rejonie. Nawet mimo ataków od przodu i tyłu bataliony pozostawały w bitwie. 		In the fourth round, after subsequent charges and countercharges, the Austrian and French cavalry on the left wing practically ceased to exist. One of the French battalions even repelled a cuirassier charge so that they had to leave the battlefield!
In further fighting, infantry battalions began to wear themselves out in bayonet attacks.

In the center, there was a charge of Russian Dragoons against French (though actually Polish) Lancers. The counter-charging Lancers had to move through the Russian Lancers, so they counter-charged and a two-on-one duel ensued. Of course it couldn't end well. The lancers were swept away and a French cavalry brigade fell. The victorious Dragoons rushed into the flank of the French battalion and destroyed it.

On the left wing, the French sensed a chance to get out of their unfavorable position. The mounted rifle regiment fell into the flank of the Russian battalion, but luck was not with the French today. The Russians lost only slightly and held their positions.
Further rifle salvos forced the Hussar Regiment to withdraw.

Squadrons of Polish uhlans were already approaching the hill and a heavy artillery company was delegated, but unfortunately it did not follow the orders and only managed to get ahead. Another move that jumped wrong.
The Russian Uhlans attacked the ancient artillery from the hill. The artillery was wiped out, followed by the infantry battalion next to it.
The Polish Uhlans were already preparing to charge the Russian Uhlans, but the effective fire of the Duchy of Warsaw battalion managed to disorganize and finally break the Regiment - as it turned out, these were the only Russian losses in this battle.

In the last turn we managed to play (probably the 6th), the Russians managed to climb the hill, break another French battalion and the entire brigade that was defending this place.
The Austrians were already on the verge of collapse. The French fought hard in this area. Even with attacks from the front and rear, the battalions remained in the battle.

Analiza po bitwie:


Francja
- Nie wiem co dokładnie działo się na prawym skrzydle Francuskim, ale podobno dokonywały się tam cudy: Odparcie ataku Kirasjerów na piechotę, pozostanie na polu bitwy pomimo ataku od przodu i od tyłu czy wybronienie 9 z 11 zadanych ran przez przeciwnika. Oznacza to, że na tym odcinku dowódca prowokował ciężkie dla siebie sytuacje, ale wychodził z nich obronną ręką.
- Jeśli chodzi o środkową część mapy, to uważam, że miałem tutaj trochę pod górkę z terenem. Duża ilość lasów do których nie miałem jak wejść ze względu na brak odpowiednich oddziałów, ograniczała zasięgi i stworzyła wąskie gardła. Mogłem w tym przypadku przyjąć obronne pozycje tj. zająć wzgórzę i odpuścić miejsce między dwoma lasami, ale nie mielibyśmy wtedy szans na wygraną, gdyż znajdowały się tam punkty zwycięstwa.
- Mimo wszystko uważam, że nie popełniłem ogromnych błędów. Bardzo zabrakło choćby odrobiny szczęścia. Gdyby nie skuteczny ostrzał Jegrów (zdezorganizowanie Pułku Strzelców konnych, który powstrzymał ruchy ustawionych za nim kolejnych jednostek kawalerii) Rosjanie też mogliby stracić trochę artylerii już w drugiej rundzie.
Kolejny przykład to choćby atak Dragonów na ciężką artylerię i znów w ogniu zaporowym udało się Rosjanom zdezorganizować Pułk.
Ostatnim przykładem były rzuty na morale, gdzie przy przegranej 1 lub 2 punktami po teście złamania traciłem bataliony piechoty. Ale taka jest specyfika BP. Dwa lub trzy złe rzuty, sypie się cała bitwa i jest to już raczej nie do odratowania.

Rosja i Austria
- Co do Austrii nie jestem w stanie wysunąć jakichkolwiek wniosków gdyż praktycznie nie zwracałem uwagi na to co tam się działo.
Dowodzący Austriakami po bitwie narzekał na to, że niepotrzebnie rozbił Pułk Huzarów na Abtailungi, bo nie pomogło mu to w bitwie.
- Rosjanie potrafili wykorzystać w 100% nadarzające się okazje, w sytuacjach zagrożenia i okazji dla przeciwnika sprzyjało im sczęście. A jeśli szczęście sprzyja lepszym, to byli lepsi.

Post-battle analysis:


French
- I don't know what exactly happened on the French right wing, but apparently miracles were performed there: Repulsing an attack by Cuirassiers on foot, remaining on the battlefield despite being attacked from the front and rear, or defending 9 out of 11 wounds inflicted by the enemy. This means that in this section the commander provoked difficult situations, but managed to get out of them unscathed.
- When it comes to the middle part of the map, I think I had a bit of an uphill climb here with the terrain. A large number of forests that I could not enter due to the lack of appropriate units limited the range and created bottlenecks. In this case, I could have taken a defensive position, i.e. occupied the hill and given up the place between the two forests, but then we would have had no chance of winning because there were victory points there.
- Despite everything, I don't think I made any huge mistakes. There was very little luck left. If it had not been for the effective fire of the Jegers (disorganization of the Mounted Rifle Regiment, which stopped the movements of subsequent cavalry units positioned behind it), the Russians could also have lost some artillery in the second round.
Another example is the attack of the Dragoons on heavy artillery, and again the Russians managed to disorganize the Regiment during barrage fire.
The last example was morale rolls, where if I lost by 1 or 2 points after the break test, I lost infantry battalions. But this is the specificity of BP. Two or three wrong throws, the entire battle falls apart and it is almost impossible to save it.

Russia and Austria
- As for Austria, I cannot draw any conclusions because I practically did not pay attention to what was happening there.
After the battle, the Austrian commander complained that he had unnecessarily defeated the Hussar Regiment at Abtailungi, because it did not help him in the battle.
- The Russians were able to use 100% of the opportunities they had, and in situations of threat and opportunities for the opponent, they were lucky. And if fortune favors the better, then they were better.
