4 Pułk Grenadierów Pieszych Gwardii - 2 Batalion.
Batalion piechoty Gwardii zrobiony na kampanię 100dniową. Trzeba zaznaczyć na początku, że taki batalion w ogóle nie istniał. Miał być formowany, ale nie było wystarczająco dużo żołnierzy spełniających kryteria aby dostać się do Gwardii w 1815r. Uznałem, że mógłbym zrobić sobie taki batalion, zwłaszcza, że miałem go robić z figurek które ktoś zaczął już malować. |
4 Regiment Guard Foot Grenadiers - 2 Bataillon
Guard Infantry Battalion made for 100 Day Campaign. It should be noted at the outset that such a battalion did not exist at all. He was to be formed, but there were not enough eligible troops to join the Guard in 1815. I decided that I could make myself such a battalion, especially since I was supposed to make it out of figures that someone had already started to paint. |

Figurki Gwardii w plastiku dostępne są tylko w płaszczach. Tak Gwardia wystąpiła w Bitwie pod Waterloo.
Bardzo nad tym ubolewam, bo gwardia miała bardzo piękne mundury i mogłaby się super prezentować na stole w mundurze wielkim.
Ponieważ Francuzów na 1815 rok robię w płaszczach to ten zestaw nadaje się idealnie.
Figurki kupiłem na jednej z grup handlowych. Jak widać ktoś rozpoczął malowanie. Bazowanie figurek nie zgadzało się z moją wizją, dlatego przystąpiłem do małych przeróbek. |
Plastic Guard figures are only available in greatcoat. This is how the Guard appeared at the Battle of Waterloo. I really regret it, because the guards had very beautiful uniforms and could look great on the table in a high uniform.
Since I make the French in 1815 in coats, this set is perfect.
I bought the figurines at one of the trading groups. As you can see someone started painting. Basing the figures was not in line with my vision, so I started making small modifications. |

Zacząłem od odrzucenia figurek w pozycji strzeleckiej i przygotowujących się do ataku na bagnety.
Ponieważ stosuję podstawki o długości 40mm na dwie figurki to wystawałyby one poza podstawkę i łatwo mogłyby się połamać.
Zwłaszcza, że starsze modele figurek Victrixa słyną z kruchości i łamliwości.
Być może kupię kiedyś dłuższe podstawki i zrobię batalion w pozie strzeleckiej. Pierwszym problemem dla mnie tj. dla malującego farbami vallejo było to, że figurki były malowane contrastami citadela. Właściwie to miałem je kupić aby przetestować jak się przentują, więc sprawiłem sobie kilka. I started off by dropping the figures in the firing position and preparing to attack the bayonets.
Since I use 40mm long bases for two figures, they would protrude beyond the base and break easily.
Especially since older models of Victrix figurines are famous for their fragility and brittleness.
Perhaps someday I will buy longer stands and make a battalion in a shooting position. The first problem for me, ie for a Vallejo artist, was that the figures were painted with citadel contrasts. Actually, I was going to buy them to test how they pass, so I made myself a few. On average I am happy with them, but I have painted a battalion (I used them on greatcoat's and bearskin's) and it looks uniform. |

W międzyczasie zrezygnowałem z bazowania 1 figurki na froncie 20mm, na rzecz 1 figurka na 15mm.
Robi to kolosalną różnicę w wyglądzie jednostki i wygląda bardziej realistycznie, tj. zgodnie z duchem epoki gdzie żołnierzy w linii szli jeden obok drugiego, ramię przy ramieniu.
Niestety z zestawu nie jest się w stanie zrobić 40 figurek w pozie marszowej tak jak to sobie wymyśliłem, więc wrzuciłem kilka maszerujących figurek z bronią przygotowaną do ataku w drugim rzędzie.

In the meantime, I gave up basing 1 figure on the front of 20mm in favor of 1 figure per 15mm. It makes a colossal difference in the appearance of the unit and looks more realistic, in the spirit of the era where the soldiers in the line walked shoulder to shoulder. Unfortunately, from the set I am not able to make 40 figures in a marching pose as I thought of it, so I threw in a few marching figures with weapons ready to attack in the second row. |
